Calgary Marathon
About the Calgary Marathon print
The Calgary Marathon runs through the city's neighbourhoods and along the Bow River pathway system, finishing near the Calgary Stampede grounds. On a route poster, the river and the neighbourhoods around it give the course its shape and its sense of place, making a print that could only be Calgary.
First held on 10 August 1963, the race is billed as Canada's longest-running marathon. The 2026 marathon and half were run on Sunday 24 May, with shorter races the day before, and the 2025 event drew a record 17,280 runners across all distances. On our trace the course climbs only about 90 m, so it is largely flat.
More than six decades of runners have come before you, and your own finish now joins theirs. Add your race date and finish time, and the print becomes your own record of a Calgary marathon, from the miles beside the Bow River to the final stretch and the finish near the Stampede grounds.
