About the Dublin Marathon print
The Dublin Marathon starts on Leeson Street and heads through St Stephen's Green, past St Patrick's Cathedral and Christchurch. It then runs through Phoenix Park, Europe's largest enclosed park, passing Dublin Zoo and Kilmainham Gaol. Around 35 km comes the 'Irish Heartbreak Hill', the hardest climb of the day, arriving just as tired legs need it least.
Our trace of the 2025 course shows about 200 m of climbing in total. Held since 1980, the race drew a record 22,500 registrants in 2019, more than 5,000 of them from outside Ireland, so it is a race many runners travel for. Your race date and finish time make the poster a record of how you handled that late hill.
