Route Into Art

Privacy notice

This notice summarises the personal data Route Into Art uses to create artwork proofs, process orders, provide support, and improve the service.

Information we collect

Route uploads

When you upload a GPX file, we extract the route line and basic route details needed to create the artwork proof. The original GPX upload is deleted after processing; we do not keep unrelated GPX metadata.

Strava Connect

If you connect Strava, we store your Strava athlete ID and encrypted access tokens so we can list recent activities and import the route stream you choose. We mark the connection inactive if Strava tells us access was deauthorized, if tokens stop working, or if we manually revoke unused access.

Map coverage requests

If a route is outside our current map coverage, we may record the approximate route bounds and inferred area so we can decide where to expand coverage next. If you ask to be notified, we store your email address with that area until the request is handled or no longer needed.

Artwork details

We retain the selected title, subtitle, date, print size, artwork style, route geometry, map bounds, and route stats needed to regenerate the proof and fulfil an order.

Order details

Checkout and fulfilment may involve contact, shipping, product, payment-status, tracking, and order-status information.

Support messages

If you contact us, we use the information you provide to investigate and respond.

Analytics and advertising measurement

We may collect privacy-conscious product analytics to understand page usage, upload success, checkout starts, and service reliability. If you accept optional cookies, we may also use advertising measurement tags to understand whether ads lead to checkout starts or orders. Analytics are configured without session recording or autocapture.

How we use information

We use information to provide the route print editor, generate artwork, process orders, deliver digital files, support customers, prevent abuse, and improve Route Into Art.

Who handles information

Route Into Art may use service providers for checkout, fulfilment, storage, analytics, advertising measurement, hosting, and customer support. These providers only receive information needed for their part of the service.

Retention

The raw GPX upload is temporary and deleted after parsing. Strava import sessions are short lived, and inactive Strava connections stop being counted toward Strava access. Order, artwork, support, fulfilment, and map-availability records are kept for as long as needed to provide the service, handle customer support, meet legal obligations, improve map coverage, and protect the business.

Your choices

Use the contact form if you have a privacy question or want help with information connected to an order. You can also revoke Route Into Art access from your Strava account settings.
