Grandma's Marathon

About the Grandma's Marathon print

Grandma's Marathon is a point-to-point course along Lake Superior's North Shore. It starts in Two Harbors and follows Scenic Route 61 into Duluth, so the route poster is shaped by the lake itself. The water gives the print its sense of place, with the line running along the shore from the start towards the city.

The finish is in Canal Park, near Duluth's Aerial Lift Bridge. The race was first held in 1977 with 160 runners, and in 2025 it had a record 7,542 finishers. Our trace records about 90 m of climbing, so the course is largely flat. The men's course record of 2:09:06 was set by Dominic Ondoro in 2014.

From the first strides in Two Harbors to the final stretch into Canal Park, this is a marathon you can follow on the map at a glance. Add your race date and finish time, and the print becomes your own record of a June run beside Lake Superior and the finish you earned in Duluth.

Give your Grandma's finish a place at home.

Personalise the route with your title, race date and finish time.
