About the Vancouver Marathon print
The Vancouver Marathon starts at Queen Elizabeth Park and heads for downtown by way of Kerrisdale, Dunbar, UBC, Point Grey, Kitsilano, the West End and Coal Harbour. About 70% of the route has shoreline views, so the poster traces a line that bends with the water for much of the way.
The race has come a long way since 1972, when it was first held as five loops of Stanley Park with 46 runners. It is now a course that shows off a large part of the city rather than a single park. The 2026 race weekend drew about 25,000 registrations from more than 65 countries, and our trace records about 190 m of climbing.
Neighbourhoods, a university campus and a long stretch of waterfront: there is a lot of Vancouver in 26.2 miles. Add your race date and finish time, and the print becomes a record of your own Vancouver Marathon, from the start at Queen Elizabeth Park, along the water, to the finish downtown.
