About the Seattle Marathon print
The Seattle Marathon starts next to the Space Needle at Seattle Center, with the start line at 5th and Harrison, and finishes at Memorial Stadium. In between it crosses the Ship Canal Bridge, the Montlake Bridge and the Aurora Bridge, so the route poster carries a line that keeps meeting the water.
The course also passes the University of Washington campus, Gas Works Park and Green Lake. Our trace records about 190 m of climbing across the full distance. First held on 15 November 1970, the race is typically run on the weekend after Thanksgiving, making it a late-autumn marathon, and in 2025 it had 8,642 marathon finishers.
