The Philadelphia Marathon starts and finishes at the Philadelphia Museum of Art on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. In between, it passes Independence Hall, the Betsy Ross House and the Liberty Bell, then runs through Old City and Penn's Landing before heading out along the Schuylkill River to Manayunk. It packs a great deal of Philadelphia into 26.2 miles.
That gives the route poster two characters: a dense city section full of the nation's history, and a long riverside line reaching out towards Manayunk and back.
