About the Venice Marathon print
The Venice Marathon starts in Stra, in front of Villa Pisani, and runs along the Riviera del Brenta. It continues through Mestre and Parco San Giuliano, then crosses the Ponte della Libertà into Venice itself. It is a point-to-point course, so the poster shows one long journey to the lagoon.
Inside the city, a temporary pontoon bridge of about 170 m is built across the Grand Canal for the race. Our trace of the 2025 course shows about 100 m of climbing, so it is largely flat. The first race was held on 18 May 1986 with 713 athletes. Your race date and finish time add your own chapter, turning the print into a record of your 26.2 miles from Stra to Venice.
