About the Ottawa Marathon print
The Ottawa Marathon starts and finishes at Ottawa City Hall on Laurier Avenue West, so the course leaves the city centre and returns to it. Its race weekend bills itself as the biggest multi-day race event in Canada, with about 200,000 spectators along the Rideau Canal and the course. On a route poster, a shared start and finish give the line a satisfying sense of coming home.
The race was first held in 1975 with 146 runners, and the 2026 marathon was its 50th edition, starting at 7:00 am on 24 May. The course records are 2:06:04, set by Andualem Shiferaw, and 2:22:17, set by Gelete Burka. Our trace records about 150 m of climbing over the full distance.
Fifty editions have produced a great many finishers, and yours is the one that belongs on your wall. Add your race date and finish time, and the print becomes a record of your own Ottawa Marathon, from the start at City Hall to the moment you made it back there.
