About the Chester Marathon print
The Chester Marathon starts at Chester Racecourse and finishes on Castle Drive, and in between it crosses into Wales before returning to England. That gives the course on your poster something unusual: a single line that spans two countries. Our trace of the 2024 route records about 90 m of climbing, so the course is largely flat.
It is billed as the sixth-largest marathon in the UK and has been voted UK Best Marathon three times, but your print is about one runner's day. Add your race date and finish time, and the line from the Racecourse to Castle Drive becomes a record of your own 26.2 miles and the months it took to get there.
