About the Loch Ness Marathon print

The Loch Ness Marathon is a point-to-point route. It starts on moorland between Whitebridge and Fort Augustus, south of Loch Ness, then follows the south-eastern shore of the loch through Foyers, Inverfarigaig and Dores. On a poster that gives you a long, purposeful line running beside the water towards the city.

The final miles bring the race into Inverness, where it crosses the River Ness at the Ness Bridge and finishes at Bught Park. Our trace of the 2025 course records about 180 m of climbing between the start and the finish. Alex Milne set the men's course record here in 2025, running 2:15:46.

Most of the field measures the day in other ways: the miles along the shore, the bridge in Inverness, the last stretch to the park. Add your race date and finish time, and the line from the moorland start to Bught Park becomes a record of your own 26.2 miles beside Loch Ness.

Bring the Highlands home with you.

Personalise the route with your title, race date and finish time.
